Don Clobes is a Ventura native and the owner and operator of AAA Hauling, a family business with roots that go back to 1965. Long before Don was running the company, hauling was already part of his family’s story. His father, Don Sr., built the business around a simple idea: do good work, charge a fair price, and treat people well.
Today, Don carries that approach while helping homes and businesses clear unwanted furniture, appliances, junk, debris, and more. For him, the work is not only about what leaves the property. It is about making a job that can feel like a lot to handle much easier from the moment someone calls.
A Family Business That Started in 1965
Don’s connection to hauling started at home. His father, Don Sr., was born and raised in Ventura and started the business in 1965. He built a name for himself by working hard, treating people fairly, and taking care of the people who trusted him with a job.
That reputation lasted. Some families who first called Don Sr. decades ago continued turning to the business through the years, including children and grandchildren of earlier clients.
When Don Sr. passed away in 2012, Don stepped in to help his mother run the company. It was a major change for the family, but it also gave Don the chance to continue something his father had spent decades building.
The business has changed since 1965, but that family connection has not. Don still sees the work as a way to carry forward his father’s commitment to doing a good job at a fair price while taking care of the community where both of them grew up.
